Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC - July, 2014
This is my second attempt at a Lincoln image. I wasn't very happy with the first one. For this technique, I definitely think less is more. I really like how this one turned out.
New York, NY - July 2013
I fell off the wagon with my Daily Quick Edits. I could kick myself about it, and get discouraged, and decide to quit, but I decided to just keep moving forward. Life happens and sidetracks us sometimes.
I took two photos of the Empire State Building while directly under it, from the back seat of a pedal cab. Both images are out of focus. I can't decide if the focus really matters when using this processing technique. I'll try a few more before I decide. I'm sure I can find plenty more out of focus images in my library.

Captured with a Canon 7D and a 50mm Prime Lens. This is a hand held panorama was composed from 52 individual images, using Photoshop's photomerge feature. Click image for a full screen view.

We happened to be there on a typical foggy day without very good light. All my images are flat and gray, so I played with a little split toning to try and make it more interesting.

These images are addictively fun to create but frustrating to share online. So much of the wonderful, textural details get lost. I imagine this printed huge, so that when you stand in front of the print all you see is the colors and details. The when you walk across the room and look back at it, you see the photographic elements from the original capture.
